Town of Southbridge Generator Fuel Storage Tank
CommTank provided a 500-gallon temporary above ground tank and connected it to the emergency generator before starting the underground tank removal. As soon as the underground storage tank was cleaned and removed we back-filled the excavation and installed a 6-inch thick steel reinforced concrete pad on top of the former tank grave. We delivered and installed a 2000-gallon dual wall above ground tank that includes a 20-year warranty and meets NFPA 30A fire-resistant tank requirements. CommTank installed a vent alarm, vent pipe, fill port, spill bucket, and double-wall feed and return lines to the backup generator day tank. The tank also included a mechanical interstitial space gauge and overfill prevention valve. Once the new lines were tested the temporary tank could be disconnected and the new tank was brought online.
