Greater Boston Legal Services
Greater Boston Legal Services, a company that provides free civil legal assistance to low-income families, originally hired CommTank to do repairs to their existing 275-gallon aboveground storage day tank. CommTank replaced the pump and piping fittings to the day tank. In addition, we successfully replaced and reconnected the piping supply and return line to the generator. Prior to starting this work, it was necessary for our licensed technicians to remove all product from both the fuel oil supply and return lines. Subsequently, both lines were disconnected so that we were able to replace all corroded fittings at the reconnection point.

Middlesex School
The Middlesex School asked us to remove a steel 500-gallon diesel fuel storage tank that was being used to supply a generator and a pump house, and replace it with a new fiberglass tank. The new tank would be equipped with a fill port, secondary spill containment, and an automatic shut off device.

Manchester By the Sea
This project might seem ordinary when we tell you that it was an oil tank installation in a brand new home. However, this is no ordinary new home and this heating oil tank has a 900-gallon capacity. The standard size for most homes is 275-gallons. Also, it was installed in a basement 2 floors below ground level. You can imagine the logistics.

Radisson Hotel
This project was started in response to an emergency call for a leaking generator day tank. The day tank was the fuel source for the emergency generator that provided temporary lighting in case of a power outage. CommTank remediated the oil spill and provided a temporary tank on an emergency basis to allow the hotel to stay open.

Multi-Family Home in Beverly
This project started when we were called to an emergency spill of oil from a basement heating oil tank. There was just a pin hole leak, but 50-gallons had sprayed out from this small hole, all over the floor and storage boxes in this basement. CommTank brought equipment to vent the air from the basement, cleaned up the surface oil, and provided a temporary oil tank so the homeowners could stay in the home.

Umass Medical Lifeline Helicopter
This project was important to us because we earned the trust of a hospital that provides an emergency service. CommTank relocated a fuel system and tested the fuel storage tank used by the helicopters.

Eastern Bank
The tank at this site was 15 years old and it provided the heat for the multi-story building, in addition to fuel for the backup generator. We were asked to test the steel 10,000-gallon tank in 2005. The tank passed the test but the bank decided it would plan for replacing the tank in 2007 so it could avoid a scenario of having to replace it in an emergency situation.

On December 26, 2006 City of Somerville officials requested that CommTank respond to a release of fuel oil in the boiler room at the Somerville High School building. Because of winter break, no teachers or students were in the building.
