Custom Tank Shelters
A tank shelter protects your above ground tank from deep freezes, rain, snow, and falling debris such as branches and ice.
Typically outdoor oil tanks run into problems during the winter due to a condition called oil gelling. When the thermometer drops below 5 degrees F, oil thickens and has trouble moving through its supply line. If there is any water or sludge in your tank the problem becomes more
severe and can lead to system shutdowns. Aboveground steel tanks can also corrode quickly if exposed to the elements.
Many cities and towns are calling for the elimination of buried oil tanks because of concern about eventual corrosion if the tank is not properly maintained. If you don’t have space to install a tank inside your home the alternate solution is installing an above ground tank
outside your home. The cover can also be stained or painted to match the siding of your home so it looks like its part of your home.
