Underground Gas Tank Replacement Service
CommTank provided an underground gas tank replacement service for the Groveland Gas Station in Groveland, Ma. Crews surrounded the work area with chain link fence prior to excavation work. The USTs were excavated and removed, dispensers drained and disconnected, soil samples were taken and the fire department inspected all tanks and tank graves.
The gasoline tank installations required breaking up the existing fuel islands and running new piping and electrical connections to each fuel dispenser. New conduit wires were installed and connected to the existing Veeder-Root system. All spill buckets and sumps were hydrostatically tested during the installation of fuel piping. Concrete around the existing fuel island was restored and concrete tank pads were formed and poured over the USTs. The tank piping, dispensers and Veeder-Root system were tested prior to placing the system in service. All work complied with federal, state, and local fire code regulations.
