UST sump repair service at Fidelity Investments

CommTank provided a sump repair service for two 15,000-gallon underground storage tanks (USTs) at Fidelity Investment in Merrimack, NH. The UST sumps had been taking on water which means they would fail the hydrostatic tightness testing required by NHDES code of administrative rules Env-Or 406.22. We were able to repair the sump by installing new adapter rings around the sump top and sealing all entry points.

The following is a summary of the steps required to repair the UST sumps, replace the steel manways and restore the cement pad.

  • Provided safety plan for work to be performed
  • Provided and applied Icon™ Fast Foam Water Block to block water from entering into tank #1 piping sump around the top of the sump
  • Provided and applied Icon™ Multipurpose bonder for the tank #1 fiberglass sump repair at cracks and also at the holes made to apply the Water Block
  • Provided and installed two Icon™ sump lid adaptor rings, one for tank #1 main piping sump and one for tank #2 main piping sump

  • Provided and applied hydraulic cement at the interior wall around the entrance sleeve points of the four double walled fuel pipes in the pump set area
  • Provided and installed diamond deck steel plating over the entry points of the four double walled fuel pipes
